A year ago today, Paul and I woke up at 4am after only three-ish hours of sleep. We took the train to the airport, and got checked in. We boarded a plane for the four hour flight to Santo Domingo!! Some exciting news today! We were at a prayer meeting tonight at a neighbor’s house, and Savannah was playing in the middle of the floor with all of us sitting around her. She got up, and walked several steps, all by herself! She did it several times!! :-) She was having the time of her life, playing with her toys and walking around the circle. She was really steady as she was walking! Hopefully this is the beginning of chasing…
If you’re anything like me, you got your first pocket diaper in the mail and the first thing you noticed was 500 snaps along the front. And maybe it was because I was pregnant, but that alone overwhelmed me and made me want to give up right there! But really, one-size diapers aren’t complicated once you understand how the snaps work. And I love being able to use the same diapers, and not having to buy more as she grew….
I had a really rough day yesterday, despite the fact that it was Paul’s birthday. It was also cloudy and dreary, and felt cooler than it’s been, which didn’t help at all. Tears threatened all day as I tried to focus on my tasks at hand, and when I was all alone I let them flow which was somewhat freeing. Happy birthday to my dear Paul!! I don’t have much time to write, but I did want to pop in and wish him a happy birthday. We have a fun day planned of Mexican food, pizza, and a game night with friends from church. :-)
