my how the time flies
In one week, I will be getting married. Wow! But more importantly, today is my little brother’s 21st birthday! It seems hard to believe. Just 21 years ago, I was in the hospital asking my mother in my little 2 1/2-year-old-voice, “Who’s the baby’s mommy?” AJ and I haven’t always gotten along… In fact I can remember one day during church he punched me in the stomach. What a fun, exhausting weekend! Friday: Drove 12 hours, including stopping in Nashville and picking up Bethany. We stayed the night in Kokomo, Indiana. Lesson learned: When you stop at a hotel at 1:30 in the morning, you can get discounted rates at the hotel. We stayed in Holiday Inn and it was sooo nice. I didn’t want to leave! I got up around 4:30 am on Friday morning to head to the airport. I took MARTA (Atlanta’s train service) for the first time which worked out pretty well. I think that’s a better alternative than making someone drive all the way out to their airport at ridiculous hours. My flight was uneventful, landing in Indy at 9am. empty nest
My youngest sister graduates from high school today. I wish I could be there to celebrate with her… I’ve never been to a sibling’s graduation before… But in keeping with the family tradition, at least one member of the family cannot be present and so therefore, it is my duty to congratulate her from afar. What school does a graduation on a Thursday afternoon anyways? I’d have to take 3 days off work to go… If I wasn’t getting married…
