I actually HAVE been going to church, despite my lack of posting Sunday Ponderings here. Last weekend we had our annual missions weekend. I have been to many, many missions weekends at different churches and this was very different. The whole weekend was very much focusing on church-sponsored missions trips to specific churches. They didn’t even really talk much about what God was DOING at those churches. There wasn’t much focus on the missionaries, which I guess is okay just not what I’m used to. :-) But one thing that made me sad was that they were pushing the missions trips so much, they totally skipped over the fact that you can go ANYWHERE and be a missionary; you don’t have to go through our church. They didn’t mention being a full-time missionary (though, I suppose that missions trips are a more likely path for the average American), and they totally skipped over praying and financially supporting missionaries.

Anyways, I really didn’t actually start this post to complain. :-) Just my observations. I actually wanted to write about Sunday Ponderings in general. I mentioned that I want to reduce the obligations that I feel about blogging. I think weekly carnivals are one thing that make me feel pressured to post – I don’t want to stop them entirely, but it’s hard when I am hosting one. Therefore, I am going to discontinue Sunday Ponderings here at twentysixcats. If you are interesting in continuing it on your own blog (Beth?), then I am happy to let you use the concept, graphics, etc. and even the Mr. Linky subscription! Just let me know.
