sara's birthday
Today is my former roommate’s birthday. I don’t know if she reads my blog – I rather doubt it because she’s a busy PA student at St. Francis in Ft. Wayne, IN. But all the same, I would like to wish her a happy birthday. :-)
Sara and I became roommates after kind of a fluke – she needed a 4th person for her Fairlane apartment, and I needed an offcampus roommate – but looking back, it was totally a God thing. It’s amazing to look back and see how God has “coincidentally” made some situations work out perfectly, isn’t it? Sara was an Olson girl which (to be honest) scared me before I got to know her. I don’t think she would have been really happy in Gerig, and I don’t think Olson was my dorm, but in our Fairlane apartment we were perfect.
Sara and I are a lot alike, I discovered. She was of course a much more dedicated student than me, and she was a lot less lazy… But she was also the type to spend all evening making an online quiz for everyone to take, or looking up random things. One time, I was teasing her about having a bottle of “designer” nail polish remover, and she said something about how it probably had cost $8 for the little bottle (it had been a gift). We both then wasted another hour or so searching for that exact bottle online so we could verify how much it really did cost. If I remember correctly, we never found out… But it was fun to search. And it was fun to share that weird quirky aspect of my personality with someone else.
I haven’t talked to Sara in several months, and I’m afraid I’m going to have to miss her wedding on December 23rd, but I do hope she is having a great birthday. She was an awesome roommate for that semester, and I wish I had gotten the chance to know her better.
Sara could be really random at times, but we loved her anyways ;-)
Two of my Fairlane roomies, Kezia and Sara (this is so you aren’t misled by the last picture and so you can see how gorgeous she really is) :-)
