Halloween a.k.a. Reformation Day a.k.a. my Grandfather’s birthday
Today is my Grandfather’s 90th birthday, and his first birthday spent in Heaven. He passed away 9 months ago today.
I don’t have a lot of memories of just me and him, but this saltines tin represents one strong memory. Every day for lunch, he would make himself a bowl of soup and pull out this tin of crackers. He would spread peanut butter on the crackers to have with his soup. Often I would sit at the table with him and have peanut butter crackers too. We would discuss on which side of the cracker should the peanut butter be spread. He thought I was silly for having an opinion. ;-) We would watch Matlock while eating lunch together.

Happy birthday, Grandpa. Hope you’re getting a chance to chat with your hero Martin Luther about the Reformation.
