gymboree

A few months ago, I purchased a Groupon for a month’s membership to Gymboree, a cool place here in Atlanta (and elsewhere) that has classes for toddlers and preschoolers. They have a soft play gym and you can have birthday parties there, etc. I decided to sign Savannah up for the weekly music class they offer, and today was our first day. It was a bit crazy! She seemed less overstimulated than me. :-) The more I’m around other kids, the more I realize how quiet Paul and I are. I’m sure that will change in a few years… hehe

The class was specifically for kids 16 months to 28 months, so just about everyone was her age. She was able to participate in most of it, except for the marching. I generally avoid age-segregated classes, because she’s either forced to a class where everyone is 8 months younger than her, or she can’t really do anything because they do so much moving around. This class was fine, though, and I was happy. It helps that she can now stand!!

I’m hoping next week she’ll participate more. I think she was just fascinated with the big open mat, and was more interested in scootching in the corner than noticing all the fun instruments that the teacher had brought out, heh. :-)

In other news, Savannah fell down the steps to the den again (same steps as last time), but didn’t seem to have broken any bones. *phew*
