whirlwind

Wow, this past week and this coming week were and are going to be a whirlwind!! A quick rundown…

Last Saturday, I met with a girl from my Bible study who’s getting married in a few weeks. They asked me to help out by photographing their wedding, which I was happy to help. But as y’all know I’m not really a photographer so I hope I do a good job! I need to find a lens rental place because the church doesn’t allow flash and my lens isn’t going to cut it without flash.

Sunday morning Paul and I drove out to Birmingham, Alabama to go see my best friend Beth! She and her husband just moved there from Texas this weekend and I’m sooo excited that they are only 2.5 hours instead of 15 hours away!! We got to see their new house, help them unpack, and played with their 8 month old daughter Maddie. Poor Maddie was all discombobulated from the move, and was a bit clingy to her mommy, but I’m sure she’ll settle down soon. And Beth is now able to be a stay-at-home mom and I’m so excited for her. :-) It was really good to see her again and Paul and I decided we won’t be strangers to Birmingham!

We drove back to Atlanta on Monday morning. We forgot something and had to turn around to get it, and so we were about an hour later leaving Alabama than we planned. We made it back JUST in time for my doctor’s appointment though! We didn’t even get to go home… just went straight there. I had my one-hour glucose test yesterday, and I was determined to do my best not to fail it so I was trying to be careful what I ate this weekend. We had about 15 minutes before the appointment so we stopped at a nearby gas station to get Paul some snacks for lunch. Then I went for my appointment, I drank the bottle of super-sweet flat sprite stuff. My blood sugar went crazy, and so did Baby! I felt all this movement. I felt fine until about an hour and then I started getting dizzy. They took my blood and sent me on my way.

We didn’t have much time… The person who’s going to watch our cats while we’re gone was coming over to get the keys. We were completely out of cat food so we had to stop at the store and buy some. Then we *finally* went home. I cuddled with my kitties while Paul ran to the store to get me some food. Meanwhile the cat-sitter came and met the kitties and I gave her all the instructions. She left, Paul came back with dinner and we had an hour to prepare and eat it, before we headed off again to the first Dave Ramsey class (Financial Peace University) at our church! We are taking the class this summer and hoping it will put us in a good position financially as we prepare to add a baby to our household, and get used to being on only one income.

Finally we got home around 9 and we were sooo tired. It was a long weekend, but I am glad we got to see Beth and Maddie!

We have 2.5 days left before we head up to INDIANA! I’m excited for the Gerig reunion and being able to see everyone. But I have a LOT to do before then. So I probably should get to doing it.

  1. I’m a fan of the change – the change of site design, that is. if this post is at all connected with change, I speak not of it. actually I’m pulling a lawyer trick. acknowledging receipt of letter without addressing any questions/comments therein, as I haven’t…um…read it yet. (but I will. soooon.)

  2. Oh! Yes, I forgot to mention that I redid my template. :-) I couldn’t ever get my other template to do what I wanted, the sidebars were all messed up, so I decided just to start over. I’m glad you like it!

  3. For those of us who read from an RSS reader most of the time, mentioning your template changed would have been motivation to get over here quicker! ;-) Good thing I am subscribed to your comments, too!

  4. I like the new template! :)

Oh, and I don’t think what you eat affects your results from your glucose test, only the first one, if they do a fasting level. Really the point of the test is to see how you body reacts to the sugar they are giving you in the drink. That’s just my thoughts though, I’m not a doctor. :)
