first day at CNN

first day at CNN

I’m feeling much better today. In a good mood, almost! We’ll see how long this lasts. :-)

By the way, the protected posts are just because I don’t want the wrong Internet stalkers reading certain things. If you care to read it, just email or IM me and I’ll give you the password. Or, if you’re on Xanga and one of the special people on my subscription list, then you can read it there.

So Paul’s first day of work was yesterday. He said he had a good day. He’s especially excited about his CNN badge. He’s one of the webmasters for the CNN website – isn’t that cool? He was telling me he gets to see the articles before they hit the website. I was all excited. I asked him if I could make suggestions for content (thinking about Becky’s post from yesterday). He said no, in fact he had to sign something saying he would not alter content in any way. I asked if we get free Braves tickets, and he said he didn’t know. I think that would be cool. :-) I know if we did, Little Brother would come visit more often (right, AJ?).

Oh, funny thing happened yesterday. So remember how Paul got two job offers, and the one he didn’t take was a 2-month contract only? Well yesterday he got a phone call from that company saying they were willing to offer a 4-month dealio with possibility of a permanent position! I think that’s kinda cool that they wanted Paul that much. :-) I’m not sure what they were thinking – he told them he had accepted another position – but yeah. It’s a nice stroke in the ego for Paul. I hope he’s satisfied with the decision to stay at CNN.

Tonight the choir at my church is throwing us a wedding shower. Yay! I’m not sure how to act – I’ve never had a party thrown on my behalf without me as part of the planning process. I feel like I should be doing something to help. Well, it should be fun. I guess I need to pull out the thank-you cards!

Yesterday I decided to try something new and see how it works out. My goal is to go to bed with a clean kitchen. Either wash all the dishes or put them in the dishwasher, wipe the counters, put away food, throw away trash, sweep floor. That will help keeping food from accidentally being left out, and with the dishes that pile up because I’m too lazy to wash them. I think this is a good thing, so if I can get into the habit then so much the better.
