No, not in Florida. (wouldn’t that be interesting!) No, the blizzard I am referring to is the one my boyfriend is experiencing. And I convinced him to brave the coldness in New Bedford, Massachusetts to take pictures for me! So everyone should go to his blog and take a look: http://leadiv.blogspot.com.

freeze watch!
So as I was checking the weather today, I noticed a severe weather alert. Upon further investigation, this is what I discovered:
…FREEZE WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE SUNDAY NIGHT TO MONDAY MORNING…
A COLD FRONT WILL SWEEP THROUGH EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA EARLY SUNDAY MORNING USHERING IN THE COLDEST AIR OF THE SEASON TO THE AREA. TEMPERATURES WILL DROP QUICKLY BEHIND THE FRONT SUNDAY MORNING WITH TEMPERATURES IN THE 40S AND COLD WIND CHILLS WITH BLUSTERY
NORTHWEST WINDS.
NORTHWEST WINDS WILL CONTINUE TO USHER COLD AIR INTO EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA SUNDAY NIGHT WITH LOW TEMPERATURES RANGING FROM THE MID 20S ACROSS LAKE COUNTY TO THE LOWER 30S JUST NORTH OF LAKE OKEECHOBEE.
I have no clue if this is normal or not, but I thought it was interesting! Brr… and to think my house has no heater. :-(
***So Paul informs me that his area (Mass.) is having a blizzard watch right now.

a graphic designer's addiction
- You see the world with one eye and stock images with the other.
- When asked what the primary colors are, answer “CMYK”
- You get the urge to “fix” poor quality images.
- You ramble about a breakthrough in the piece you’re doing to people who have no idea what you’re talking about
- You ponder the meaning of existence without layers.
- You drop something and your brain tells you automatically “Apple-Z! Apple-Z!”
- You’re getting dressed for something important and you look in the mirror and realize you would look so much better if you could just tweak the levels a little and apply a slight gaussian blur.
- You stop on the street to rant about cheesey effects that should not be on professional posters.
- You scream out fonts as they appear on TV.
- You have dreams in “glowing edges”
- You’re standing by the ocean and wondering who used Ocean Ripple.
the cat who saw red
One of my favorite series of books is “The Cat Who…” series by Lilian Jackson Braun. They are light mysteries about a man named Qwilleran and his two Siamese cats, Koko and Yum Yum. Koko is a highly intelligent cat and helps Qwill solve the mysteries. They’re entertaining and the author has a lovely way of writing that will appeal to any cat lover.
When I lived in Peru, I had the whole series at one point. Unfortunately I had to leave them all behind. :-( But I was an avid reader. In fact, when I got two Siamese kittens, I named them Koko and Yum Yum. :-)
Paul and I are reading “The Cat Who Saw Red”, which is the fourth book in the series. We read a chapter a night over the phone :-p mostly because I want Paul to experience the books I loved (still love? i don’t know; it’s been a while since I’ve read them).
Anyways, I recommend these books if you don’t want anything too deep, and especially if you are a cat lover. :-)
