I love swimming!

I love swimming!

I mentioned a while ago that I had found a Mom & Baby water aerobics class to attend for the month of March. Well, that class is now finished and I really enjoyed it! Savannah did too! I don’t know how much it helped me lose weight (I don’t have a scale to measure the pounds, but my jeans do feel looser… or maybe it’s my imagination), but I’m glad I took it.

The class was in an indoor pool at a local community center. There were 5 other moms there, plus the instructor and her child. All the babies were about 5 or 6 months old – one of the boys was a week younger than Savannah! It was fun to meet other moms and talk about our babies (like, where do you find the best clothes?).

It wasn’t a very intensive workout, but it still left me tired each Thursday. And by tired I mean, absolutely exhausted! My brother-in-law came over for dinner the day that I had my first class and I couldn’t help it – I was so tired that I took a nap! (And you know me, I *never* take naps!) We did a lot of leg lifts and walking in circles and then we swam a few laps. Sometimes we held our babies, and sometimes we put the babies in floaties next to us.

Savannah had a great time! She would splash in the water and kick her feet the whole time. She really enjoyed the times when we would lift our babies in the air. (Yeah, babies make good weights when you are working out! ;-))

My sister came along one day and took some pictures for me. I was really happy with how they turned out.

Splash Mommy! (I don’t like wearing my contacts in the pool, and I can’t see much without any corrective lenses, so I had to wear my glasses the whole time. Oh well!)

My favorite picture! She’s so precious.

If anyone in the area wants to know more about the Mom & Baby classes, let me know!
