Savannah was two weeks old yesterday. She’s doing great. I’m sure she’s growing a lot (though I don’t necessarily notice it). She’s awake and alert for longer portions of the day. I love the chance to look in her eyes – I’m pretty sure they’re grey right now, though we’ll see if they stay that color. Her hair is plentiful on her little head, and dark brown just like her daddy’s. I’m curious if she’s going to keep that hair…
So I guess since it’s after midnight, Savannah is 7 days old! Wow. Everything still seems so new. People ask me things like “What does she usually do…?” And I’m like, “I’m still trying to figure it out myself!” She’s a great sleeper. I’m grateful for that! She also isn’t very fussy; almost always she fusses for a reason (diaper change, hungry). She got her first sponge bath today! She did really well and now she looks so pretty. She…
Well this birth was TOTALLY not what I expected at all! And as I promised, it’s an interesting story… I’ve been dying to share it but getting to a computer for any length of time has been difficult. :-) 36 weeks and 2 days, almost three weeks before Savannah was born I should probably skip the whole beginning, the part where my contractions started Thursday night. Paul and I are excited to announce that Savannah River was born yesterday August 22 at 1:32pm. She weighed 7 pounds even and was 19 inches long. She is happy and healthy and doing great.
