Christmas tour of homes
Well hello! Nice of you to drop by. Come, take a look at our house. Let me put on some Christmas music for the mood… We’ve only decorated the living room, but it’s nice and cozy. Come, sit down, have a cup of hot chocolate and a cookie. I’m afraid I don’t have any holiday recipes to share, but if you want to try something new, check out this recipe. I think I’ll be trying it this week; doesn’t it look fun?
I’m glad you like our Christmas tree. We cut it down ourselves. We don’t have as many ornaments as I’d like, but I know with time we will collect them. I love ornaments that have special meanings, don’t you?
This is the ornament we got for 2007. I love it; isn’t it adorable?
Thanks for your compliments, it does smell lovely in here. I have to attribute it to the items on my coffee table. Those three candles really are aromatic. And that bowl of potpourri smells heavenly! If you feel so inclined, feel free to sit down and flip through one of our Christmas books – Max Lucado’s “One Incredible Moment“ has such beautiful writing. For the cat lovers, I point you to “A Cat’s Christmas“, a delightful book. Feel free to sit and stay a while!
Ah, you spotted my birthday tree! You see, my birthday is the day after Christmas. Many years ago, when I was about 8 years old, my grandmother gave me a “birthday tree” to help me feel like my birthday was special and not lost in the hubbub of Christmas. I loved it, and have put it up every year since then. Two years ago, I had to get new ornaments for it because I had lost so many of the original ones. It looks cute, doesn’t it? My college roommate gave me that penguin that’s to the left of the tree, and my grandfather made the cross that’s on the right. Let’s not forget why we celebrate Christmas!
Speaking of…
Here’s my adorable nativity set. I got it from Hobby Lobby, my favoritest store ever.
Let’s also not forget…
Our Jesse Tree. This is the first year we’ve done something like this, and my husband and I are appreciating the daily reminders of how the entire Bible points to Christ’s coming, and how significant His coming is!
Don’t you like how the garland and stockings turned out? One of these days, we hope to live in a house with a fireplace, but in the meantime we have to make do with what we have! The two stockings in the middle are for our two kitties, Lewis and Ebony.
Before you go, Ebony and Lewis want to say hi! We all wish you the merriest of Christmases this year! Thanks for stopping in for a visit! Be sure to see all the other homes at BooMama’s Christmas tour of homes.
