election day!

election day!

In exactly 8 hours (or so) I will be arriving at the polling place to vote for the first time. I’m very excited! I voted in the 2004 presidential elections via absentee ballot, but today I am actually living in the same county so I can vote in person. I thought I was going to have to drive to my grandparents’ old hometown (about an hour away) because I was registered there, but a few weeks ago I got confirmation that they changed and I’m all good and legal to vote here. I know this might seem like such a small thing, but if you know me at all then you know I get excited about small things.

We have been very busy here, which is why I haven’t been posting much. Saturday was a lovely day spent with Susan. The original intention was to do some sewing but in typical Ashley fashion I wasn’t in the mood (I was afraid of making my headache worse, but it actually went away so that’s good). We had a delightful time, and I enjoyed the “girl time” with Susan. She’s always fun to be around. :-)

Sunday Paul and I drove over to Marietta because my parents were speaking at a church there. (Beth, I saw your parents! I let them know that we’re coming for Thanksgiving.) We then went to some friends’ house for lunch, which was fun but made for a full day. My parents arrived yesterday to spend the week with us, so Paul and I were busy Sunday night with cleaning and laundry. It’s fun to have my parents here, but a little cramped! I wish we could have moved last weekend, but oh well.

This week is going to be a whirlwind of visiting and packing. I need to get organized so that when all the wonderful people come to help us move, we actually are ready. Note to self: set up utilities. So much to think about! :-)

So I’m not sure how much I’ll get to post this week. I might take the week off from blogging so I get everything done, but in the past every time I’ve said I was taking time off I always end up posting anyways. So we’ll see. :-)

Pictures to come of the new apartment! I put some pictures from our New England trip up on Facebook if anyone is interested.
