opinions needed!

Okay, so Paul and I came up with an idea for our wedding that we like, but we’re not sure how much other people will go for it. SO… I’d like your opinion.

Since most of our guests are coming from out of town, we were thinking that it would be nice if we could see them more than 3 or 4 hours (and it’s unlikely we’d really get to talk to them). So, we’re thinking of doing a weekend wedding.

There are still a lot of details that need to be worked out, but the general idea is that we’d reserve a lodge at a campground near to Atlanta like this one. The guests would arrive Friday night and stay until Sunday. We’d have the wedding ceremony on Saturday afternoon, following by a fun reception of a cookout dinner, dancing, games, and fellowship. People could come for just the ceremony, or for the whole weekend. We would get to hang out with everyone on Friday night/Saturday day. This way, we’d get to spend more time with everyone. There are cottages people can rent and campsites where you can pitch a tent or park a camper. (Cheaper than a hotel room! Which is what it would be if we were married at my church in Atlanta.)

So what do you think? Fun or weird? Would you rather go to a traditional church wedding/reception? Let me know!!
