my last weekend
So it’s monday, the first day of exam week, and the sign that my last weekend at Taylor is over. It was a nice weekend… We were without power on Friday for about 2 or so hours which was an adventure. Saturday I didn’t do much except take Paul out for lunch and go to Emily’s last track meet. We watched her throw the hammer, which I had never seen before, so it was interesting. I loved watching the concentration on her face as she was about to throw. I’m glad I went. :-) Then Saturday night Paul and I were making dinner and we did something that we’re never done before – set off the fire alarm. We both felt really bad, but it wasn’t really our fault… Nothing was burning, there was no visible smoke, and no smells warned us that the extremely sensitive fire alarm was about to go off. People didn’t seem to be too upset though.
Sunday we went to Indy with Melissa, Emily, and Jeremy. It was an enjoyable afternoon. Afterwards Paul and I came back and watched the Simpson’s for the last time together, and then I had my senior dessert. It was a lot of fun and I am glad we did it. We did get on the rather long discussion of ring-downs which I felt is over-discussed (or at least with me). However, the rest of the things we talked about were nice. I need to get over the other banquet, I know… But that’s easier said than done. :-(
Paul and I had a long talk last night about our future. It seems that there were expectations not being met, and misuderstandings, and overall lack of patience (on my part :-)). Also, knowing that in a week we won’t see each other again for eight months changes things… Unless of course he gets the job at Taylor, but I’m not counting on that anymore. Ah, I don’t like next fall one bit. I am so ready to be done at Taylor, and I wish I could have done something so I would have been able to graduate a year early. I am not ready to do a long distance relationship again, but time isn’t sensitive to that. I hate long distance. :-(
