website upgrades, in-law visits, and general running around

Today was a long, exhausting day.

Last night, I rolled out the new design for the Atlanta Birth Center website. Check it out – what do you think? I’m pretty happy with it. There are a few wonky things but overall I’m pleased. I was up until around 4am working on this site. I’m glad I got a chance to iron out all the details while most of our site’s viewers were in bed.

Savannah woke me up around 8 I think. She was so cute. Our morning routine is she wakes me up, I go get her from her crib, bring her back to my bed to snuggle and nurse. It’s usually the only time she nurses during the day, and we both love that snuggle time. This morning she woke me up the second time by standing near my face and saying, “Eat? Eat?”

When I roll put of bed at that point, she says, “Yay!” and runs out excitedly.

Today after breakfast I set about tackling her room which was a major mess. The entire contents of her dresser were on the floor, so I got some rubbermaid containers to store all her too small clothes and too big clothes. It took forever but her room looks fabulous now.

Meanwhile I was dripping sweat from working in the hot upstairs. In these hot days our ac just has trouble keeping up! I think the thermometer read 84 upstairs most of the day.

I also got a few loads of laundry done. Quite an accomplishment, unless you see how much more I still have to do! I think we’ve all been out of clothes for several days! I don’t mind doing laundry but for some reason I struggle with motivation to stay on top of it.

After lunch, my in-laws arrived – they flew in this morning from Massachusetts. Savannah went crazy and wanted to be chased all through the house. My in-laws of course LOVE to play with her, so it was a mutually enjoyable time. I was able to make some changes to the birth center website (ones I’d received after emailing everyone about the redesigned site).

Are you exhausted yet? I am, ha! I made dinner then went to the Y for my first Zumba class. I’ve been wanting to make an effort to do some of the free classes the Y offers, and I was able to convince a friend to do them with me! We both had a lot of fun. But yeah… I am so tired!! And also horribly out of shape. :-) I wonder how long before I start noticing more tone and endurance in my muscles?

Home, put Savannah to bed, ate dinner, talked to Paul’s parents for a little bit, then more birth center site stuff until Paul and I decided it was time to go to bed. Of course despite how tired I was today, I can’t turn off my mind so I’m laying in bed blogging. :-)

Tomorrow should be another full and busy day!

  1. Love the new look of the birth center site! So when are they slated to open?

What’s Zumba? Never heard of that. Not really an exercise person here, so whatever it is, I’m impressed you’re doing it ;-).
