Last Saturday, every state in the United States except for Hawaii saw snowfall. I think that’s kinda amazing. Atlanta got a few inches, too. However, we weren’t here to enjoy it. Savannah and I drove up to Asheville, NC to visit my sister who lives up there. It snowed there so we basically stayed indoors the whole time. The other day, I printed out a blank map of the United States, and colored in all the states Savannah has been to so far in her short life. Ever since then, I have been obsessed about adding states to Savannah’s map! We have been thinking of our friends and family who live all over the country, thinking, “Oh we should visit them!” This has come about after much thought about our goals as a family. When I told Paul that I was going to write this post, he laughed at me and said, “You’re such a Southerner.” The truth is, I haven’t been anywhere colder than Atlanta since Christmas 2004. And I think I’ve forgotten how cold up north can get. I don’t know why we decided to visit New England in January except that we were thinking it would give Paul’s parents a chance to have Christmas with Savannah before it got too far…
I pretty much avoid the computer when I’m in Orlando, just checking my email and Facebook on my iPod Touch. I’m having too much fun to be on the computer. :-) We got back from Orlando last night, and had a lovely trip. * We drove through Savannah as planned. We ended up only being able to drive through the city and not getting to stop and take any pictures, due to running out of time (story of our lives)….
As I mentioned, we’re headed to Orlando for Christmas later this week. (!!!) My mom emailed me and suggested that we look at going an alternate route. Normally, we take I-75 all the way to the Florida Turnpike, but apparently a gas truck ran into a bridge on the Turnpike a few weeks ago, and all but one lane each direction are closed. Since we anticipate the traffic to be really heavy due to Christmas, we immediately saw the wisdom…
