Last week, we did a little craft that involved collecting some rocks from outside. Now, Savannah is fascinated by them. Today she is begging to go outside and “pick rocks”. 🙂

Savannah is crying for her paci. 🙁 We took it away almost a year ago (and Caroline never took a paci). I feel bad for her – I know what it’s like to have a high suck need. Wish I could do something to help her.

Two names

Savannah: Vacation Bible School has two names! Vacation Bible School and VBS!
Ashley: That’s right!
Savannah: Rose has two names too! Rose and Bad Wolf!
Ashley: That’s my little Whovian.

Then, a few days later, she asked me for an apple. We only had pears, so I explained that to her when I handed her the pear.
Savannah: Apples have two names too. Apples and pears.
Ashley: Ummmm…

Aside

I thought I’d mention why I chose this theme for this blog. The minute I saw it, I knew it was perfect for the girls. Savannah loves animals, and especially zoo animals. Her favorite is an elephant.

She’s sitting next to me on the couch right now as I am setting up this blog. When she saw the theme, she was very excited. “Look, Mommy, elephant! Giraffe! Hippo! Zebra! I love it!”

Yes, I picked well.

Vacation Bible School

Tomorrow is the last day of Vacation Bible School! This was the second of two we decided to do this summer, at two different churches. Our first time doing VBS. I wasn’t sure how Savannah would do, but she seemed to really enjoy it! I must admit she seemed to like the last VBS better. I think the teacher just connected with her in a special way, and she felt very loved. She would grab my hand in the morning as we walked into the church, pulling me and saying, “Hurry! Hurry!” She goes willingly to this VBS, but not with the exact same eagerness. But that’s okay. I know which one we’ll definitely do again next year. 🙂

I accidentally picked two VBS’s that were doing the same curriculum, Everywhere Fun Fair. Oops! She hasn’t seemed to notice. I hope the repetition will be good for getting the message to stick!
